AYDOS FORTRESS IN ISTANBUL TO OPEN AFTER 12 YEARS OF RESTORATION

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the opening ceremony of the historic Aydos Fortress in Istanbul on February 3.
The restoration of the historical heritage site lasted for 12 years.
The Turkish leader will also open the Sultan Nature Reserve, with an area of 127,000 sq.m.
Both projects were implemented at the initiative of the Istanbul Municipality of Sultanbeyli.
The special significance of the Aydos fortress is given by the fact that it was from this place in 1453 that the army of Sultan Mehmet II began the conquest of Istanbul.
The Sultan Reserve, which will be opened on the same day, was built on a plot of 127,000 sq.m. The green array will give a "new breath" to the Asian part of the Turkish metropolis. There are trails for walkers and cyclists, and residents can play outdoor sports, enjoy the views from the terraces
