THE MOST POPULAR CITIES FOR BEACH HOLIDAYS ARE NAMED WITH EUROPEANS.

Experts have named the most popular cities for sea recreation among Europeans, Turizm Aktuel reports.
The rating of the most popular cities chosen by tourists from the EU for a beach holiday in summer was compiled by World Travel Market (WTM) and Forward Keys. Antalya became the leader, interest in which increased by 81 percent compared to the pre-pandemic 2019.
In second place is the Albanian Tirana, in which the number of tourists has increased by a third (36 percent) in three years.
Six places in the top ten leading beach destinations were occupied by Greek resorts. So, Mykonos was in third place, Rhodes - in fourth, followed by Chania, Heraklion, Santorini, and Thessaloniki. The number of tourists there compared to 2019 increased by about a quarter (an increase of 17 to 29 percent).
The Spanish city of Alicante (+16 percent compared to 2019) and the Portuguese resort of Funchal (+11 percent) are close to the top ten.
