More and more Turkey is in demand not only as a hotel holiday but also becomes an interesting for businessmen. It is worth noting that Russia is in first place in terms of the number of companies with foreign participation created in Antalya. Since the beginning of the year, 34 Russian firms have been registered in the Turkish resort province.
This was stated by the head of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA) Davut Cetin. “Over the past three months, 223 companies with foreign participation have been established in Antalya. Russia is in first place with 34 companies, Germany is second with 29 companies, and Iran is third with 24 companies,” Cetin said in an interview with the Yeni Shafak newspaper published on Saturday.
According to him, Antalya officially ranks second in Turkey after Istanbul in terms of the number of foreign companies operating in the region. About 5 thousand companies with foreign participation are registered in Istanbul. “If we correlate these figures with the population and the volume of trade, then Antalya will be in the first place. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the largest in Turkey in terms of the number of established foreign companies, 8.5% of our members have foreigners among their partners,” the businessman said.
The population of Istanbul is 16 million people, and Antalya - is about 3 million.
Cetin also said that it is planned to create a new free trade zone in Antalya since there are practically no places left in the current one. “Together with the Ministry of Trade, we have begun work on the creation of a second free trade zone. There is a serious need for this. Antalya is currently regarded as one of the world's best provinces for investment opportunities,” said the head of the local chamber of commerce.
