Over the past five years (2017-2021), foreign citizens have purchased more than 41.7 thousand residential properties in Antalya, Turkey.

The top three among citizens of foreign countries in the purchase of real estate in southern Turkey are Russia, Iran, and Germany.

Helmann Chairman of the Board Selman Özgün told Anadolu Agency that Antalya is one of the most preferred regions in Turkey in terms of investing in real estate. According to this indicator, the “tourist capital” of Turkey is second only to Istanbul.

The region also leads in terms of the number of foreign citizens and founders of companies located here, Ozgun said.

“There are more than 100 direct flights from Antalya to dozens of countries. People come here for permanent residence from many parts of the world. Investments of local and global brands do not stop,” Ozgun said.

According to him, due to the peculiarities of Antalya, international investors prefer to invest in real estate in the region.

“From 2017 to 2021, foreigners purchased 206,768 properties throughout the country, and 20.2 percent of this number is in Antalya. Overall, 41,715 properties have been sold in Turkey's tourist capital over the past five years. Russians bought the largest number of housing units - 7,978. Followed by citizens of Iran - 4,396 and Germany - 3,848. The top ten countries also include Kazakhstan, Iraq, Ukraine, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain, and Denmark. The largest number of investors are citizens of European countries. We attach great importance to the qualifications of investors, regardless of their geographic location,” Ozgun said.

The head of the company noted that the leaders of the list are also citizens of Azerbaijan, Jordan, the Netherlands, and the United States. Also attracting attention are countries such as Finland, Belarus, Ireland, Canada, France, Israel, and Austria, said the head of Helmann.
