Turkey expects a rise in the number of tourists who travel for plastic surgery and treatment
The head of the Turkish Health Tourism Association (TÜSATDER), Servet Terziler, said that the state has every chance of becoming a leader in providing medical services to foreigners, Turizm Aktuel reports.
According to him, the key to success is high quality at an excellent price. Thus, the cost of a hair transplant from a good specialist in Europe is 15 thousand euros, in the USA - 12 thousand dollars, in Japan - 30 thousand dollars, and in Turkey - 2.5 thousand euros. Moreover, the flight and hotel accommodation are included in this amount, the expert noted.
The most requested procedures are hair transplants and aesthetic surgeries. Servet Terziler noted that 65 percent of men in Turkey have hair problems because the clinics have gained a lot of experience.
According to the Turkish Institute of Statistics (TUIK), in 2021, tourists spent $1.048 billion on wellness. This year, according to the forecasts of the association, the figure may be doubled. Taking into account the spending of vacationers on spa services, the country's income from health tourism could exceed three billion dollars.
